2001 Chevy C6500 Tow Truck. Cat 3126 motor with Eaton 6 speed transmission. 486k miles.
tow bed is a 21 foot century aluminum bed. has wheel lift winch and a few chains/straps. everything works, need to be greased. passenger side bed controls need a little work.
has air horns and air drivers seat. seat need to be reupholstered.
pioneer radio and speakers. interior needs a good cleaning. 4 new rear tires, front 80%
its not a pretty truck but starts right up, runs and drives can drive home anywhere. it puffs a little smoke at start up then clears right up. does not smoke while driving. its ready to work, i use it as is everyday. good truck for the right person who wants to put some TLC into it. i tired to be as up front as possible with any known issues. accepting cash offers only.
truck will need all wheel seals done and some brake lines re ran. i still use it as is, but they will need attention soon. at times if it sits for a few days it can be hard starting. once started it will restart fine and run fine with no issues. pto is stuck engaged. truck also needs minor aluminum welding on rear bed lip (bed can be used as is). all these things are taken into consideration on the price. this truck with the repairs needed would be 15-18k. get a deal, take some time and fix it up.
the truck need is some work on the parking brake. i converted it from the electric brake to the hand brake but does not get tight enough to fully engage. truck does have a mico line lock brake. works good. gauge cluster is spotty at time like there is a bad ground somewhere. trucks has a lot of little nuesesces. it will need work. with that being said it my only truck and i still use it daily. cash only, no trades.

on 12/17/19 i drove this truck 1400 miles from Boston MA to Lakeland Florida towing my other tow truck and another car on the back, both loaded with tools. this truck runs. i dont have to space to work on it and could really use the cash. i am 100% firm on my price. if you dont want to spend 10k dont waste my time. no trades. if the ad id still up the truck is still available.
