I have a 2001 International 4700 with a 22ft jerr-dan bed, winch has new cable on it, wheel lift works great. the truck is currently in the shop getting a full engine rebuild. I sold this truck once and the Gentleman called me and said it was getting warm on him so i had him bring it back to me so i could check it out. it was 4 gal low on coolant and was not leaking externally at all. so i did the right thing and handed him his money back. i found a crack in a piston sleeve so i hauled it to the I29 truck shop just south of me 50 miles and told them to do a inframe on it. the head will be getting checked on Monday and if its cracked at all it will be getting a rebuilt one (thats going to run me another $1700 over the cost of the rebuild) I Purchased a International inframe kit from the dealer here in town so no aftermarket parts are being used. The truck comes with 2 different rear ends, it had 4.78s from the factory with the 5 speed which made the top speed about 65. Here in South Dakota our hwys are 65 and our interstate is 80, I wanted to be able to run 65/70 without hitting the governor so i changed out the rear end to a 3.92. this truck will haul just about anything you can fit on it. i have used it for box trucks, large skidsteers (10,000 plus) and long wheel base utilitytrucks that wont fit on a 21ft bed. There is some rust on the underside of the bed over the wheels. doesnt affect the hauling capabilities at all. It originally had 19.5 rubber and has been switched to 11r 22.5, very good grippers on the rear and near new steers on the front. if i was keeping it the only thing i would change is the tire size, i would switch it to a low pro 22.5. this truck has a nice cd player. working cruise control. Air seat but is currently not hooked upand it looks like the compressor is missing for it. Once its done will be good for another 2 or 300k easy. where else will you find a truck this size with a fresh overhaul for this kind of money, thats right you wont, zips would ask 25k on this truck with a overhaul.
