Up for sale is my 2002 Ford F550 4x4 Crew Cab flatbed with the legendary 7.3 liter Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8. It has 122,000 miles(which continue to go up until sale) non commercial. I purchased from the original owner last year and it is in excellent condition especially for the year with slight wear and tear (notes below). The truck runs clean and has NEVER been smoked in. The original owner used it non commercially to haul their fifth wheel between Colorado and Mississippi. I have used the truck to haul my toy hauler but no longer need the truck.
The F450 and F550 for these years were cab and chassis (no bed) and have a significantly higher GVWR and GCWR when compared to the F350 and below. The GVWR of the single rear wheel 2002 F350 Crew Cab 4x4 Diesel was 9,900 lbs. This truck almost double that with a GVWR of 17,500 lbs. That means you can carry significantly more weight on the back of the truck and or tow a trailer with a significantly higher pin weight than an F250,350, or 450. With the increased capacity comes much larger disc brakes, larger driveshaft, and much heavier duty rear end (Dana S135) with a rating of 13,500lbs for the rear axle. (For reference the Ford 10.25/10.5 rear in a single rear wheel F350 of the same year is just over 6,000lbs). Also has 19.5 aluminum rims with high capacity commercial tires.
