Up for sale is a 2002 Ford E-450 Horton ambulance. The ambulance has the preferable 7.3L diesel engine and is rear wheel drive. The truck has approximately 136,500 miles, the last 200 of which I have put on it with zero issues. There are no warning lights, and the truck starts right up and runs and drives smoothly. It has been owned by two services, the first being a small municipal ALS service and the second being a small volunteer BLS service, so the truck has had an easy life, been well maintained, and kept indoors. It is ready to go back into service, and comes fully equipped. All lights, sirens and radios work perfectly. This is quite possibly the best-equipped ambulance on eBay, as most others are listed as BLS stocked but then only come with a stretcher and a few basic supplies. It will come with:
Ferno stretcherTwo backboards and short board
Scoop stretcherKendrick Extrication Device
C-spine bag
Adult and pediatric traction splintsSplinting boards
Lifepak 500 AED

On-board suction

Otherwise, it may be purchased separately for $1500.00Two radios in cabSirenDual (loud) air hornsOpticom traffic preempting device
Large and small oxygen tanksChild seatSafety vests and helmetsA full set of hand toolsVarious rescue equipment: chains, blocks, winches, etc.Onspot tire chains (currently uninstalled for summer operation but included)Much more EMS equipment and supplies
Electronic privacy windows that fog over the patient compartment windows at the touch of a buttonSpare tire
The ambulance does have a few flaws, with the most notable being: - some surface rust around the passenger mirror - some rust through between the front doors and running boards, but does not appear to be structural and likely an easy fix - slight vibration between 60 and 70 MPH - electronic locks for compartment doors only operate on rear and side entry/exit doors - locks will need addressed: most locks on outside cabinets do not work (lock for inside/outside cabinet in front of side door does), driver"s door lock seems to be frozen, and passenger door lock sometimes requires adjusting the door handle before it will work. Decals have been removed and some impressions remain. Generic ambulance and star of life decals will remain, so that all that is necessary to place the bus into service is to add your service"s lettering. Red stripes are paint.
Aside from these easily addressable flaws, the ambulance is in excellent shape for a fifteen year old rig. As an EMT, I would have no reservations working on and driving it if it was a part of my service"s fleet. It would make an excellent reserve unit, truck for a service on a budget, IFT unit, rehab truck for a fire department, etc. The value of the truck plus all of the equipment it comes with most likely exceeds the asking price. More interior photos to come.
Ambulance is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied. I make no guarantees as to the suitability of the ambulance or the included equipment for EMS work. Buyer is responsible for picking up the ambulance and arranging shipping or providing their own plates. Sale is final.
