This truck was purchased new in 2003 from Ravenel Ford. It has been used exclusively for a service truck for my water well drilling business and to pull gooseneck trailers for my drill rig. It was my first new truck to purchase and has been a good truck. It has the 6.0 litre diesel and 6 speed manual. It has been maintained by Fipps Garage on Johns Island for most of its life. We changed the oil every 5000, and always ran a clean K&N filter.
We have purchased a newer truck for the company and we still maintain one pull truck that is a Dodge Cummins. This truck has served its purpose well and will go on to last a few more years for someone looking for an inexpensive work truck.
The truck has almost 250,000 miles on it. Three tires are 50% and one is new (sidewall mishap). There is some rust underneath the bed of the service box. It had a rhino liner on it originally but the liner caused the bed to rust excessively due to normal industrial use.
The oil dipstick top broke, we fixed it on the job with a wire nut...as far as I am concerned, it is functional. The oil fill port has a crack. No leaks of oil. Truck smokes a bit due to age. It had a clutch replaced back in 2011. The emergency brake cable is broken.
We lined the top of the service box bed with a new piece of diamond plate rather than cut out the old one. It has some damage to one of the rear passenger side service box due to a tree mishap. This truck is not in perfect shape, and the price is adjusted for that reason.
