Kidron 20" insulated reefer unit with barn style doors, Thermoking MDII unit with inside reefer control having been replaced. This unit was used primarily to haul our flowers from NC to NY weekly, the miles are mostly highway miles. This truck needs very little to get into perfect working order and has a life expectancy of 550,000 miles if properly maintained. Will need tires, A/C repaired and Reefer Unit repaired, received a price of 2000.00 from Thermo king to have completely restored and working perfectly. This does require a commercial drivers license. This is where we messed up. After driving the truck up and down Highway 95 for many years we were finally pulled into a weigh station for an inspection and received a not so nice ticket, continued to run this way a while longer and got pulled again, this time the fines totaled over 4000.00 and so we decided to take it off the road. Used it on my farm as a cooler to maintain our flowers, and then unit needed repair, so we decided it"s time to let the truck go to someone that can properly drive it with a commercial license... | “Needs very little work to have a perfect functioning reefer truck.Truck is in need of new tires, the reefer unit needs to be serviced and is not currently working, the A/C needs to be repaired as it is not blowing. Transmission was rebuilt by Allison Transmission in New Bern, NC and they also replaced the front seals on the motor. The Turbo was replaced by International in Binghamton, New York, and we have had the radiator replaced. This has always been well maintained using Rotella Synthetic oil every 7,000 miles. recently had the emergency brake replaced and calipers. Just replaced both batteries with heavy duty Duracell. Strong running truck with lots of mileage left...” |
