We have placed our 2005 F-650 Tow Truck up for auction. We are a franchised Ford dealer located in Houlton, Maine. My father started the business in 1968. Here is the history of the truck that we know: We purchased it in February 2011 from Dual Tech, located in Bean Station, Tennessee. Dual Tech purchased it from a Ryder Fleet (we were told) and installed a brand new model 124021 21"x102 carrier. The truck had 171,116 miles at that time and was in excellent condition. We have used it in our ordinary business until May of this year when we took delivery of a 2015 F650 also from Dual Tech. We have been pleased with the operation of the 05 as you would assume because of our decision to purchase a new one just like it. We have performed all of it"s maintenance. The tires (see pics, tires are brand new on front and re-treads for rear) and brakes are good. Last year we replaced an EGR valve when the SES light came on and then, in October, we replaced the Alison Transmission ($4900), which is still under warranty. The truck and body operate with no major issues. The 5.9l Cummins is very fuel efficient, but will use some oil if driven at high speed.
