The shredding unit can be used to shred other items besides paper. Could make a great hard drive shredding truck or really any other material. Rear of the box is a 2 way conveyor belt for unloading.
This is a pre-emissions 2005 Isuzu NPR chassis with low miles and low hours coupled with a 2008 Alpine Peashooter shred body. Motor is a 5.2 liter 4 cylinder turbo diesel. Aisin automatic transmission.
Alpine values the body alone between $15,000-$20,00 as is. Hoses, fittings, PTO, and prep work cost me right around $10,000. So you’d basically be getting the chassis for nothing!
The body was attached to the chassis in January 2019. Before the body was put on the frame rails were cleaned and undercoated. Also a light layer of undercoat was sprayed on the bottom of the cab. Cab is solid, no holes. Cab was sanded, primed, and repainted using rattle can white and clear. Also, transmission lines were replaced, batteries were replaced, and front tires replaced all in January and February 2019. Has curb side and in cab viewing monitors. Has back up camera.
Worked with Alpine to buy correct PTO. Brand new Chelsea PTO installed (0 hours). Brand new hydraulic hoses, fittings, and filters (0 hours). PTO IS BRAND NEW AND COST ALMOST $2000!
Original chassis quit, swapped over to this pre emissions chassis to do small city routes and as a back up. Realizing I dont need it and it has become more of a project than expected. Shredder body is solid, has 4500 hours on the block, one tooth is missing, compactor is great shape. Could use some cleaning and painting in spots. Gear oil changed 2018.
Swapped bumper from original chassis to Isuzu and moved mudflaps and mud flap brackets back to make more proportionate,
GVW is 12,000 lbs. Will easily carry 1-2 tons. May need to install another spring in rear to carry full payload.
Will need hydraulic pump (priced at $1500) and final fit and finish. Final fit and finish will be to wire PTO into cab, wire road side controls, wire rear view and in cab camera.
This is running driving pre emissions chassis with a running working shredder body that when put together will make a perfect starter truck or back up truck or separate.
