2005 Sterling L8500 single axle road tractor with 414K miles on it. It has a Cat C7 engine, serial number SAP01637, and a Fuller 7 speed transmission, serial number T-14607B. It has Meritor front and rear and the gear ratio is a 4:30. The serial number of axles is RS23160. This is one of a number of single owner trucks I recently purchased from a large operator. This one, as well as the rest, were all fleet trucks and were maintained at one of their 460 maintenance locations around the country. Truck cranks, runs and drives. When I got the truck I sent to Emergency Fleet Services which is a local diesel repair facility there in Warren due to a code for fuel accuator and it wasn"t getting fuel properly. I sent it to a local diesel shop there in Warren and they pulled the code, replaced the accuator and code cleared and truck ran like it should. Of course we checked the fluids and did a routine inspection while it was there as well. I can provide the exact code that came up if someone wants that information.
As far as defects, there are areas of surface rust but nothing unusual. As you can see by the pictures there is no rust at bottom rear of cab where many trucks that were exposed to salt tend to rust. Inside of cab has normal wear and tear and there is a wire bundle that I can assume goes to the computer/geotracking equipment if somebody were to want to hook that back up. Certainly all of their trucks were equipped with that type equipment. No major body issues. The tires are 11R/24.5 and you can see are in very good condition. They appear near new on rear but since I did not put them on myself I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
This is a NO RESERVE auction and starting price is roughly half of good condition private party value.
