Engine : healthy 6 cyl diesel 245 HP oil changed regularly, breather being replaced or cleaned often,turbo spools fast. It has an engine brake, air over hydraulic brake system so no air brake endorsement needed, C class driver license satisfactory to operate the rig, air ride driver seat.
Tranny: Allison RDS4500 this size truck is not a task for it, because it designed for bigger rigs and heavier duty, with full synthetic TES-295 changed every 60k miles in perfect shape, doesn"t slip, shifts nice. you may wanted to change an arm on gear selector (cheep little parts between cable and tranny, wich is very accessible) but operable as it is now.front suspension serviced not too long ago New OEM bushings and pins, drug link,tie rod ends. Steering shaft and u-joint greased regularly an in good shape.Good Michelin tires in all position. 4 years old custom ordered flat bed is light and strong with a notched headrack to haul some longer pieces,sliding winches,chain rack and binder rack. Wooden deck over all in good shape.Frame is good. it is a California truck ,I"m not a smoker,AC worksBeing such a good truck it has some minor downside i should disclose: the power windows operate weak(since I bought it), interior is shows some wear like vinyl floor mat, driver seat(not so bad for a work truck), a plastic pointer on gear shifter doesn"t match with a selected gear, it has a salvage title which doesn"t effect driving at all( own it since 50k miles).Truck steel on the road making money,so miles are ticking.With all above said I feel confident to drive it anywhere.
