This little beauty was a trade-in at Peterbilt Memphis. It was originally a CR England Truck running out of $t Louis. CR England traded the truck in to Freightliner of St Louis & to current owner that traded the truck to Peterbilt bought it October 2011. Traded the truck in on a new Peterbilt Glider Kit. (DIDN"T WANT TO DEAL WITH NEW EMISSION ENGINES!)
I $EE, BUY & $ELL A TON OF TRUCK$ & THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT ONE OF THE CLEANEST TRUCKS INSIDE & OUT THAT I"VE $EEN IN A LONG TIME! BEST PART OF THIS IS IT"S AN EXTREMELY CLEAN, WELL MAINTAINED TRUCK THAT IS PRE-2008. BECAUSE OF ALL OF THE TRUCKS GOING TO RUSSIA & VIETNAM FOR THE LAST 8-10 YRS A GOOD MAJORITY OF THE DETROIT POWERED FREIGHTLINERS WENT OUT OF THE COUNTRY! COMBINED WITH THE WAY FREIGHTLINER WAS PUSHING (GIVING MAJOR INCENTIVES) THE MERCEDES ENGINE, THERE ARE VERY FEW 2000-2007 DETROIT POWERED TRUCKS LEFT IN THE UNITED STATES & OF THOSE VERY FEW MOST ARE WORN OUT & HEADED TO MEXICO! BOTTOM LINE IS THERE ARE VERY FEW OF THESE LEFT & YOU"RE NOT GOING TO GO FIND A PRE-EMMISSION TRUCK AS NICE, CLEAN & WELL MAINTAINED AS THIS TRUCK IS!!!
l"LL $AY THE $AME THING ON THIS TRUCK AS I HAVE ON THE LAST 3 DETROIT 14L THAT I"VE $OLD ON EBAY IN THE PAST MONTH. THIS PRE-EMMI$$ION 14L DETROIT HAS PROVEN TO BE THE MOST RELIABLE & INEXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN OF ALL THE ENGINES SINCE 2004 (1ST STEP OF EMI$$ION LAWS) AND THEY"RE NOT BULDING ANYMORE EVER!!! DON"T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF SPENDING $10-$20K MORE ON 2008-2010 TRUCKS WITH DPF FILTERS THAT WILL COST YOU $1,000s MORE IN MAINTENANCE & NOT GIVE YOU NEAR THE SERVICE OF THIS PRE-EMI$$ION ENGINE!!!
This is the list of repairs/maintenance that I got on the appraisal from Peterbilt. Freightliner of Harrisburg PA did Rods & Mains, Turbo, Oil Cooler & Pump at 422K (Feb 2012) . It was a weird deal where oil pressure was extremely low after TAG Truck Center in Jackson TN put in a new cam seal. Ended up that a shop rag had gotten sucked through the intake & was stuck in the pick-up. TAG paid bill. At 702K New Charge Air Cooler & AC Compressor & in 2014 New Front Springs & Shocks.
