2007 Freightliner Columbia. C15 Caterpillar ACERT. FRO16210C 10 speed manual transmission. 3.43 rears. 817,000 miles. Thermo King Tripac APU. 150 gallon fuel tanks. Refridgerator. Dual stacks.
Here are some good points about the truck. Drive tires are near new, steer tires are probably around 75%. Brakes and drums are all brand new. Rear axle has new shocks. 6 aluminum rims. Rims on drive wheels look near new. Batteries are brand new. Number 3 injector was just replaced. Frame and rear axles look good and are not rusty. Front end seems tight and truck drives good. Transmission seems to work well and truck shifts good. Interior is in descent shape. Plastic on dash is not broken as it is in many Freightliners it"s age. APU starts and runs well. There are no fluid leaks. Truck does not smoke. Oil pressure is good. Cam timing sensor and actuator oil pressure sensor have recently been replaced. Truck is 3/4 - 7/8 full of fuel, which is probably around 250 gallons.
Here are some bad points about the truck. I took the truck to my local Freightliner dealer and had it checked out. The truck NEEDS A NEW CLUTCH (roller on clutch fork ready to come off) and there is some blow by. From research I have done, that is typical of Cat ACERT motors and it doesn"t appear excessive to me but it is visible from the breather. Mechanic also thought there may be a weak injector. I do not know any history on the motor. The paint is not perfect. There are some minor areas of damage (such as cab extenders and an aluminum step on the passengers side. Refridgerator may, or may not work. I have not messed with it. There are also, likely, some minor issues that I have not thought of.
Overall, in my opinion, the truck is in good condition for it"s age, but will need some work to make it ready for work. If you are looking for a truck that is ready to work or like new, this is not the truck for you. I did drive the truck to where it sits, but I cannot guarantee how far you might make it with the clutch in it"s current condition. The truck is best suited for someone who is mechanically inclined and understands older trucks that have some miles on them. If you are so inclined, in my opinion, you can replace the clutch and an injector and have a truck with a new clutch, new brakes, very good tires, and in over all descent condition for significantly less money than other trucks it"s age.
