Maintenance and Repairs:
This truck has been meticulously maintained since my wife and I owned it. All PM’s and service done in a timely manner, including all oil/fluid changes, filters, tranny fluid change, hubs and differentials kept current, grease jobs and lubes. All repairs have been done as needed, including new radiator, clutch, air compressor, turbo and actuator, some air bags (inc cab) and brake chambers, batteries, fan clutch and hub, new shocks all around, exhaust, compressed air tanks, water separator, leveling valve, muffler, exhaust manifold bolts, hoses, belts, various sensors and electronic parts, windshield, even dash light bulbs, and a host of other minor things. All receipts for ALL maintenance and repairs are available on a cd for inspection, and can be sent on request. All records will also be included at time of sale, if you want them.
This truck has a new DOT inspection (last week). It needs nothing to roll right now and begin making you money. Steer Tires are Michelins, and tread depth is approximately 11/32nds. There are 8 brand new virgin drive tires on the truck (not retreads). The only mileage these tires have is from the tire dealer to my house (about 25 miles).
Cleanliness, Detailing, Use:
When we got this truck, we scrubbed the interior, top to bottom, and kept it that way ever since. It has been kept clean and shiny, inside and out, and the interior is as clean as your mama’s bathroom! Add to that, we’re non-smokers, and non-tobacco users, so it isn’t coated with yellow nicotine. If you want a really nice looking, great running truck, that’s got a whole lot of life left in it, without spending a fortune, well this is it. It has served us well, and we’re hoping it goes to a good home. We’re only selling it because we had to quit trucking for health reasons. Another thing: we drove as owner-op’s for Swift, and then for Landstar. Both required us to get regular DOT inspections. With Swift, twice a year. With Landstar it was every 90 days! So, you can be sure, things were kept up. Also, we are a little older, and we didn’t need to make a bundle, so we chose more leisurely runs, and lighter loads. As a matter of fact, the dispatchers used to poke fun at us and call us VPT, or Very Picky Trucking. Most of our loads at Swift were less than 30,000 lbs, and most of our loads at Landstar were under 20,000 lbs, so this truck has not really been worked very hard during our possession.
Extras:
Included in the sale are some extras. A Brand New B.F. Goodrich Steer Tire (sold for about $450). It was on the ground for about 500 miles. I got a flat drive tire in Needles, CA, and they couldn’t fix it there (typical Love"s, lol), so I bought this new steer tire to get to Salt Lake City, where I had my drive tire repaired, and this steer got tied down as a spare. I"ve never used it since. You won’t need steer tires for a while, because the Michelins are in great shape, but, eventually, when you do, you’ll only need one. Also a good, used spare drive tire with about 12/32nds of tread. Sorry, I didn"t have enough room for a picture of it. A brand new set of tire chains (never on the ground) are included; all the tire chains you need to be road legal in Colorado, for tractor and trailer. (We hated to “chain up”, so we just bought them to be legal. We called them our “show” chains!) Also, a box of about 20 cargo straps (at $19.95 each=$399.00), a Cobra CB Radio already installed with a Wilson antenna, an locking air-cuff for your air brake knobs, a locking glad hand protector, and a heavy-duty king pin lock, compliance triangles, an extra trailer connecting air hose, an extra trailer electric harness, extra headlight bulbs, extra engine belts, a 50’ glad hand air hose with air chuck, so you can fill all of your tires yourself, wherever you are. There’s probably more. Whatever else I find, you can have it.
Auto Shift Transmission:
Let me add something here for those of you who have considered an automatic transmission, but aren’t sure. I bought this truck so that my wife could drive, too. She can drive a stick, but the clutch was hard on her leg. I thought I was just doing this for her, but after the first year in the saddle, I decided I love this transmission. It always shifts at the perfect rpm level, resulting in optimum fuel economy, If you select too high a gear going down a hill, you can easily downshift again while moving, you never have to “go nuts” shifting in stop and go traffic again, and it’s just as durable as a manual transmission. As a matter of fact, we had the clutch replaced at a comparable price to a stick shift. Truth is, the inside is almost identical to a regular, manual tranny. Any electric or air assist shift servos are on the outside, so it’s a pretty easy tranny to service.
I have done my best to represent this truck honestly. It is my/our belief that you will be getting an excellent vehicle which, with proper care, will give you years, and many hundreds of thousands of miles of service. This is not a run-of–the-mill, beat up rig, it is a nice truck. Please bid with confidence.
Terms of Sale:
Please, don’t bid on this vehicle unless you can pay for it. At the close of the auction, you agree to immediately forward a non-refundable down payment of $1,500.00 via Pay Pal, wire transfer, or certified check sent by overnight mail, with the balance due by wire transfer or certified cashier’s check within 10 days.
