PLEASE NOTE: I was an independent hauler who contracted with a local store but I finished my contract on January 2nd of 2016. The pictures in this listing have been modified to remove my company information and the store details but I can email pictures anyone who contacts me. Thank you.
    Truck Details:

    Duty: Medium
Class: Class 4 (GVW 14,001-16,000 lbs.)
    Empty Vehicle Weight ~9080 Pounds
    4500 Series (C4/W4) 5
    Miles: ~205,000
    16 Foot Morgan Box
    Lift Gate
    Air Conditioning
    Cruise Control
Roof Vent on Cab -- can be switched to force air in or pull air out which is pretty handy.
    Power Windows
Power Locks -- The lock/unlock switch is on the dash board (far left side); I"m guessing Isuzu thought this was more secure but I wish they would have put switches on both doors.
Maintenance History Since I"ve Owned Vehicle (by mileage):
172647 - Purchased this box truck to perform contract hauling for a local store. Replaced lift gate switch with new one; cut out about six inches of old cable from both ends of the harness and changed the hydraulic fluid. Replaced fuel filter shortly after purchasing.
177400 - Service Due according to sticker that was on the windshield.
177902 -- Engine oil and filter changed with oil flushing/treatment used before draining.
185356 -- Engine oil and filter changed.
190767 - Engine oil and filter changed with oil flushing/treatment used before draining.
192313 - Front tires and air filter replaced. Front wheel alignment done; rear wheel alignment checked good.
192650 - Replaced fuel filter again.
193795 - Changed transmission fluid and spin on filter. Also changed rear differential fluid.
195042 - Greased kingpins and whole drive shaft assembly (five points). Replaced both backup lights.
198,000 (approx.) - Replaced front seal on transmission. Changed transmission fluid and spin on filter.
199468 - Engine oil and filter changed. Greased drive shaft and checked bolts.
    201240 - Greased kingpins.
201K-202K - New front brake pads installed and pad guides replaced on the calipers. Rear brake routine adjustment done.
202460 - Took blower motor apart and cleaned out the carbon dust. Brushes still have life left so I put it back together. Also cleaned the cabin filter and connector going to the blower motor. Motor was running a little intermittently but hasn"t been a problem since I did this.
203331 - Replaced the brake master cylinder and did complete system brake bleed.
    Additional features/info::
    Current DOT Inspection
AirTab Fuel Savers Installed (back of box).
Two shelves added inside the box along with some other cargo control gear; these keeps all the tools and equipment off the floor which makes it easier to load longer items. The shelves can be moved anywhere along the two rows of E-track on the walls so you can make one large shelf if you need it for carrying light items like cabinets.
Usual truck equipment/tools plus an appliance dolly and a panel dolly.
    Known Issues:
The cable that goes to the lever arm for changing the airflow (floor/vent/dash) is bent a little where it connects to the diverter valve arm/lever down below. I bought a new cable but haven"t changed it because it looks like there is a tool for removal/installation; on the back side of the control panel, where the cables connect, there are posts with metal retaining clips that hold the cable in place. It looked like there might be a special tool for removing those clips to change the cables. This particular cable is the shortest one and the valve lever is down by the driver"s right foot so it"s easy to get to it. The selector still works, you just have to work it gently back and forth a little because of the small bend in the cable. This really hasn"t been a hassle for me since I usually don"t change the airflow direction much but if all else fails, I know I can easily reach the lever under the dash.
The lever for switching between inside and outside air is broken off; with the dash cover popped off, you can still get in there and move the cable but I"ve just set it at the midpoint and it work fine for me.
The truck uses a little coolant. I add some when it reaches the minimum line and bring it back up to the max line. I do that probably every two to three weeks so it isn"t much. I"ve never seen a leak but honestly haven"t investigated much since it hasn"t gotten worse and other things have been the priority.
Rear rollup door and seal: The door and seal don"t get gentle treatment in this line of work. I spray the whole works down when it gets dirty and then spray down the track, hinges, rollers and cables with garage door lube. I usually spray down the lift gate pivot points when I spray down the door. The door works well enough but the seal isn"t in great shape. If I were going to keep the truck long term, I might think about changing it but the longer loads that get pushed into the truck inevitably tear up the seal and ratcheting the door down is tough on it as well. I just chalk this up to the price of hauling building materials. This hasn"t bothered me too much because I keep the truck swept out and I routinely clean out the drip channel at the back of the box so water can drain out the holes in that; that helps a lot but you"re not going to keep 100% of dust and rain from creeping in. If you let the channel fill up with dirt it will block the holes and let water come in but if you keep it clean consistently then it"s okay.
Truck is missing the battery cover that clamps on. I bought the truck like this and haven"t purchased a new one since that hasn"t been a priority.
Right rear leaf spring is weaker than the left rear. I"m told that"s typical because of what the crown in the road does to loaded trucks over time. I priced out new leaf springs but honestly, I wouldn"t spend the money on them when you can install air helper springs for less and those would ride much better and give you load leveling ability. I"ve wanted to install those for a long time but just haven"t been able to do it. I still may put these on if the truck doesn"t sell quickly but then I"d adjust my asking price to offset that improvement. If I were going to do this work long term, I would absolutely invest in air helper springs for the front and back and probably install four new shocks while I was at it since those are cheap; I"d start with manually inflated valves for each wheel and later on, I"d think about adding a compressor and controller so I could adjust each wheel from inside the cab; that"s more expensive and I"d want to see if frequent adjustments would even be necessary.
Rear tires will need to be replaced for continued winter driving. Tires for these trucks aren"t expensive though. When I priced them out, I found out that I could swap all six for less than the price of four on my pickup. I replaced the front tires but wanted to get some more miles out of the rear ones. I had planned on changing them for the winter but now I"m getting out of this business so I"m just holding off for now since I"m selling the truck.
Driver"s side door lock cylinder is broken or gummed up with dirt. Passenger side works. I might change this once I"m done with my contract but this hasn"t been a big deal to me.
That"s it. The truck doesn"t use any oil between oil changes. Motor runs well and transmission shifts smooth. Only rarely do I drive over 60 mph; I just get better mileage that way and the minimal time savings doesn"t justify the fuel burn and pushing my truck for no reason. It"ll run fine at interstate speeds but it"s not worth it unless you"re running behind. My plan was to drive it to 300K and then swap injectors and get the compression checked; if that checked good then I was going to just keep driving it until it started consuming oil or showing any other signs of wear. It"s a diesel so it"ll run a long time if you keep the fuel and oil systems clean and maintained. This truck is wrapped with the store signage required by my contract; this is over a $2K value to another independent hauler who contracts with this store chain. I"ve been told that truck wrapping can be peeled off with a heat gun so the box can certainly be modified to suit your needs. This would make a great moving truck, cargo delivery van or general contractor vehicle. Nice tall box door and lift gate makes moving things like patio doors easy while the low overall height of 11" lets you to go virtually anywhere and the truck is very maneuverable with a great turn radius. Thanks again for looking.
    Planned Work:
Now that I"m done using the truck, I"m going to change the engine oil and filter again. I"ll use some oil flush treatment again and I"m going to run a lighter weight oil in it for the colder winter months here in Northern Minnesota. The truck allows you to run a range of oils based on your temperatures.
I"ll update my website with any other work I do. I"m going to take a look at the door lock cylinder and will also post some interior pictures on my website (listed above). I need to reattach the bottom dashboard cover with some new plastic hardware but I might rework it with something better since I don"t like the plastic hardware Isuzu used. Thanks again.
