I have very unique tractor and trailer for sale. The tractor is a 2008 Freightliner M2 Business Class with a dedicated CNG John Deere 8.1 engine matched to a 6 speed automatic Allison transmission with only 72K miles. Everything on this truck/tractor works properly. This engine produces 300hp and 900lb/ft, and we have averaged 7.2 MPGGE loaded so far.
The truck has air brakes and 33k GVWR. The trailer is a 2013 Lone Star 40ft high rise gooseneck with 15K axles, Hutch spring suspension (very heavy duty and long lasting), and electric over hydraulic drum brakes. It has all the chains, binders, tarps, and bungees you should need. It is a very strong flatbed trailer for a gooseneck configuration, I have adjusted the bearings, brakes, and flushed the hubs about 8K miles ago. All tires on the tractor and trailer are at 70% or better as seen in the pics.
So here is how it all works! If you know anything about CNG you know it takes much more space (not weight) to get the same capacity of fuel. Therefore I converted this truck that came with only 40GGE mounted behind the cab to a configuration of 20GGE under a diamond plate cover right behind the old enclosure, and 100GGE under the trailer (in between the frame rails) for a total of 120GGE of capacity and roughly 600 miles between fill ups allowing for a reasonable safety margin. That"s more than enough to get to between CNG stations comfortably even if you are going coast to coast! There is a pressure gauge on the trailer and a typical fuel gauge on the dash that works like any normal fuel gauge. Other than filling up you would not notice any difference between driving a regular diesel class 6/7 truck and this one except this engine is much much quieter and cleaner. Being a CNG truck it requires no DPF system, it doesn"t even require a catalytic converter, and still meets modern emissions standards (even California). One less thing to put you down on the road. I have converted the upper area of the enclosure behind the cab where the 40GGE CNG tanks used to be into a sleeper cab which is usable but not DOT compliant as a sleeper until it is cut through into the cab which was my next project, It has a twin size 8in memory foam mattress that"s pretty comfy and a small TV.
Why am I getting rid of it? I managed a driver in this truck over the last few months and it proved to do exactly what we needed it to do and get the economy we needed but the driver was a temporary thing and I was going to drive the truck myself after he left. Since then my long term plans for my career have changed dramatically, and I will be unable to manage or drive this truck with the new direction I am going. Benefit from me working out all the kinks and spending all the money on this setup and get to working straight away running this truck with cheap clean fuel. Both titles are clean and have current DOT inspections. Will not seperate obviously. For more info call 405-371-7948. -Brock
You must have bidding experience or you will be cancelled unless you call first! If you don"t waste my time I will promise not to waste yours! Bidding is a contract! Thank you!
