Our service purchased this unit in November 2012 and have been using this unit until September 2016. It has been a good unit, but has just been replaced with a newer ambulance. Our service has used PL Custom ambulances for roughly 10 years and hope to never use another brand. We have found that the quality in the PL conversion is superior to other brands we have used. The original service that had this unit built spared no expenses. This unit was equipped with all the bells and whistles at the time. Some features are: * Dual sirens (traditional Whelen and a Powercall) * Lots of LED lights on exterior * Custom Flag vinyl decal or rear doors * Opticon traffic light unit to turn traffic lights when using the lights. * Pneumatic Air horn * Load Manager that will turn off lights if power is reduced. * Rear camera with LCD screen built into the rearview mirror * Oxygen cylinder hydraulic lift (saves your backs!!!) * Lots of diamond plating * The unit is pre-wired for UHF radio in the cab and a VHF radio in the rear compartment * On-board oxygen has an audible alarm when main pressure falls below 300 psi
This unit needs some minor TLC but can easily be placed back in-service. Items that we are aware of are: * The AC compressor needs replaced. * Tires are about 50-60% * There are a few ICC marking lights that will need replaced on the top corners of the box * The shoreline LED light is broken
This is a good unit, but it will need a little TLC to make it an awesome truck. We have 2 other units that we are selling that are of the same design and manufacturer if interested. We just need to get these units off of our lot due to too many vehicles at our station. This unit has no warranty and is what you see is what you get. Please send any questions you may have. I have a standing sale with a salvage yard, but I really think this unit needs to be sold to someone that will put it back on the road and not scrapped or sent to Mexico.

| “We are the 2nd owners of this unit. It was just placed out of service in October 2016. There are small cosmetic scratches and dings but unit is in decent shape. The AC compressor is out and in need of replacment. This ambulance will not include any radios or the stretcher. What you see in the photo is what comes with the unit.Tires are in need of replacement. There are a few ICC marking lights that are not working. Unit runs and drives well. All routine maintenance has been performed in-house. All major repairs have been done at the Ford dealership in Peru, IN.” |
