Have to sell my truck, due to insurance extorsion. It went from $14k to 22k, without any fault of mine.
So here is the story; I bought it brand new in September 2012. I was the only owner and the only driver. My plan was to keep it for another few years, and I took care of it appropriately. Oil changes every 25k miles (instead of 35 recommended by Volvo), grease also at intervals lower than factory spec.
Never started a trip with engine codes or CEL, everything was fixed asap.
At this point, at almost 850k miles, the truck still has original brakes, at 40% as of last DOT inspection in Sept 2018.
Before receiving the death insurance quote, I did very comprehensive service in Jan 2019, new clutch (it still had 30% left), center bearing, front diff input seal and 3 box oil change (tranny, both diffs). $5K.
In the last 2 years following major items were changed:
Turbo Oct 2017
Radiator and expansion tank July 2017
Both tensioner pulleys with both belts, Oct 2018
Wiper mechanism, including motor, late 2017
Injectors some time in 2017 (second time)
Plus many miscellaneous items.
Truck is ready to work, however it has 2 issues that will be fixed BEFORE delivery; windshield washer spray and just noticed today, a big crack in the windshield.
There are some problems that I will not take care of;
Fridge doesn’t work, I fixed it twice and since 2 years I gave up on it. Took it out and made a shelf in its space. I will put it back in, but it will not work.
Door switches on driver’s side are temperamental, sometimes windows don’t go down other times doors don’t lock or unlock. Same for mirrors. I used to take it apart and clean it with contact cleaner, it would work for a few month. A new one is less than $300.
I have mentioned brakes, they’re original. My style of driving doesn’t use much brakes or clutch, but depending on your ways you might have to do them soon ( about $1000)
Tires are still legal. I change steers every year, drives every 2. Well the 2 years are up. Total cost about $4k
I have only done 1 DPF bake, about half million miles ago. According to recommendations, it should have been done about 100k miles ago, yet the soot level has never gone over 40%, and usually sits about 30%. There’s no loss of power or fuel economy
Included in price is what you see, new LED lights (2018) plus the original lights, minimizer floor mats, 2 sets of tire chains. Garmin GPS, TV and microwave oven.
I am willing to deliver the truck anywhere in contiguous US and Canada for $1.50 a mile upon receipt of substantial non-refundable deposit.
Should you require PPI, I’m willing to bring the truck to any garage of your choosing located in Montreal or Sherbrooke, QC and all points in between.
