For sale today is a 1993 Ford LNT8000 97" double elevator bucket truck. This truck has reliable power under the hood, with a 7.8 Ford turbo diesel engine, backed by an Allison push button automatic transmission. This is a desirable truck, due to it being a 72" boom if you don"t use the elevators and all the way up to 97" with both elevators raised. The business end of this unit features an Altec AM900-E92 boom with a 97" working height and double elevators. The boom is rear mounted and has a 2 man bucket. The pistol grip upper controls work well. With 4 hydraulic outriggers, the boom will feel very steady all the way up, very secure boom to operate. This unit starts right up and drives down the road nicely. The interior is in nice shape, not all beat to death like so many of these trucks. This truck has very low original miles at 17,004. The truck is a cheap alternative to getting up in the world if you need a tall truck. The truck has a lot of life left in it, but will need a few things to be up and running. The price of this truck has been adjusted to accommodate these needed repairs. The holding valve on the second elevator needs to be replaced. This valve sits in a recessed hole and water tends to sit in this hole and the valve literally rusts out and starts leaking. This valve is still available from Altec, or any number of hydraulic shops. The fuel shut off solenoid is not working. This is a magnetic switch that turns the fuel on when running and off when the key is off. The valve is wired open to run currently and once again this is a minor fairly inexpensive repair. The outriggers work great and they do not leak. When you put them in the folded up position, they tend to leak down. This is also a repair that can be fixed by installing a hook and chain on each corner, or by having the release valves cleaned/replaced. There is some minor work to be done to fix this truck, but it is a great buy for a tall truck. This truck is located in Kingston, New York. Where we are also offering it for sale locally.
