Friends,
I really hate to let this one go.
It"s a knuckleboom wrecker that I built from scratch starting with a low mileage power company truck. It"s a great machine, but job and family responsibilities keep me from using it. The chassis is a factory four wheel drive 1854 with a DT466 engine. It has a Pitman knuckleboom that will lift in excess of 8000 pounds at the first knuckle. Additionally, it has a boom mounted winch and sheave so that you can use it as a crane. Behind the crane it has a hydraulic drag winch with 1/2 inch wire rope that feeds through a fairlead at the back of the truck. To help with winching and uprighting I built a set of swinging stifflegs out of outriggers from another power company truck. They normally point outward and can be used as anchors for single lane uprighting. They can be swung rearward and used to squat on ice claws for heavy winching.
The truck also includes a Meyer snowplow from their medium duty line that was designed for this application. In four wheel drive, this thing moves snow like a mother freaking riot!. To help with visibility I"ve installed a four camera system, with one camera looking back from the boom when folded, one at the tip of the boom that can be used to look down while doing crane work, and one facing forward though the windshield. The fourth camera is radio linked from my towmate light bar, but is not included in this auction. The cameras are recorded on an in-dash hard drive.
Lighting includes red and amber strobes mounted to the mirror bracket. Additionally, it has snowplow lights mounted to the roof, and rear-facing snowplow lights mounted to the bottom of the mirror brackets. The signals on all of these lights work.
For towing, I installed a brand new Zachlift Z6500, which includes wheel scoops, forks, and a tow ball adapter. The truck also comes with 5/16 safety chains and a dolly set. Additionally, I have tire chains for the front axle, but not for the rear. The truck is wired with a 7 pin harness to the rear, as well as quick connect jumper cables front and rear. The truck has been retrofitted with 22.5 Budd style wheels and the tires are fresh traction drive recaps all the way around.
This truck goes down the road like a breeze and is a real beast. I"d love to keep it, but I can"t justify the insurance when I almost never use it. As always, I offer my walk away guarantee - if you arrive to pick up the truck and its not as I"ve described it - you walk away, no questions asked.
