I have a Altec bucket truck boom that was a 55" lineman"s bed. I bought the truck for a project and I removed the bed about a year ago. The upper boom was ok but there was a twist to it that made it unusable and since the bucket was damaged, I removed it and scrapped that section of boom also. The tool boxes were damaged just enough that they were more trouble to repair than worth, so I removed them too. I was intending on making this into a cheap mobile crane to use around my shop. The lower section of boom is complete and the outriggers are all there. I plumbed in a pair of lines to hook my tractor up to run the outriggers for removing it from the truck. The outriggers can be operated independently of one another. The emergency valving assembly is still all on the base of the boom and could easily be used to raise and rotate the boom assembly. There is some damage to hoses in that area. The cylinders on this piece are very big. There are two on the base assembly to do the over-center function and two more long cylinders in the boom section for operating the upper boom that is removed. The boom section that remains starts out square and made of metal and then turns to fiberglass where it looks round and can be seen in the pictures. I have a section of peterbilt frame also that only has a front axle under it but I will put it with the item if the buyer wants it to mount the bed on. This could still be a boom of a shorter length very easily, or used as parts to repair another lift, or as a cheap crane. I can load this item on flatbeds as long as they are close to the ground. Taller beds may take a little different approach. I am not gonna be responsible for getting shipping quotes. I would guess this item at 6000-8000 lbs. Thank you for looking at my auction.
