South Florida Moving Company
Full Service - In State - Out of State
State and Federal Licensed - Insured - Motor Carrier
All Payroll, Accounting, Workman"s Comp, mHelpDesk
My wife purchased this moving company in August of 2014. The plan was that our oldest son would embrace this business and eventually take it over. Prior to our owning it, the company was open for about a year, but mostly did delivery and small moving. It has grown much since then.
In the last 15 months, this company has grown from small moves to large in state moves. We are a HomeAdvisor Pro. As a result, we get daily calls for bids because out rating are so high. We usually get each job that calls. We have our 16 foot truck on the road for up to 2 bedroom moves, but many times lease 26 foot trucks to do larger 3-5 bedroom jobs. The idea was not to just have 1 or 2 trucks on the road, but 10. My wife was very customer service directed.
For those of you that do not know this business, profit is derived from a few different sources.
1) Hourly rate for moving for small jobs and flat rate for large ones
2) Packing and preparation for moving
3) Loading other peoples rented trucks for long haul to unload at a destination by other
4) Boxes, blankets, straps or other moving supplies
5) Short term storage
6) Broker out of state moving for commission
7) Broker local or out of state LTL, Truckload, Freight, Auto, Ocean Carrier
I want to point out a few things about this business.
1) It is profitable running it as an office owner (no lifting required)
2) It is substantially more profitable as an onsite owner/labor with the crew, because a large portion of the profit is based on your labor rate. When you are "on job" you can run things a lot better than when employees are running it. Normal business woes.
3) We are set up as a "A-class" full service moving company, not a fly by night.
Here is what is included:
Books and records for the last 15 months (we did $120,000 in gross revenue as deposited into our corporate account). That is after licensing and learning curve. Business actually started in Oct 2014 because of licensing start up. Note: the $120K not included in sale.
2003 Chevy C4500 Kodiak 16 box with 8100 Vortec Engine and Allison Transmission. 135k miles, runs great, cold a/c, new front tires, new radiator, new shocks, full maintenance. Truck is supplied with Carlson dollies, Magliner hand trucks, clothes racks, straps, stretch holders, blankets, tools, shirts, belts, etc.
Corporation (set up with 2 year history), all licensing- city/county permits, State moving license, Federal MC license, DOT number for MC, optional lease on office space in downtown Boca Raton all good through 3rd quarter 2016.
We have established Penske, Budget, and Enterprise corporate accounts for lease trucks for long haul trips.
You get rated Workman"s comp insurance (which is a really big deal to get for a moving company), Commercial General Liability and Cargo insurance, Physical Damage Insurance, Truck Insurance, Quickbooks online, mHelpdesk, HomeAdvisor account. I only say these things because, these are items that are paid for out of the on going business operations, but in order to set them up, it literally takes months to get done. And you cannot start business until you have them in place and when you add another vehicle it is easy.
Yodel SEO tuned website Google listing, second business website/email and established phone number.
Take our current employees, who we have trained and done all background checks.
Merchant account for Visa, MC, AMEX and Discover.
All artwork, business card logos, craigslist ads, banners, and current business relationships
You will get training and follow up with your questions on how to bid jobs, handle job coordination, and ways to expand business to grow as we want this to do well.

We are putting this business up for sale due to a few factors.
1) Mostly that my wife has finished school (after some heath issues early 2015) and will now enter the workforce in her career; she will not have the time to run the business on someone else"s payroll; and she is busy all day with the moving company.
2) This business is better suited for a owner operator that will be on the job to maximize profit.
3) I can continue the business without my wife"s involvement, but have a very busy schedule myself, therefore would prefer passing it on to someone else and focus on my own business
4) This business is turn key and ready for someone to make money from day one.
INSPECTION: You can stop by for a coffee or send someone of your choice to take a look at the business anytime. Just give me a call at 954-557-7906 to setup a time. Call me with any questions during normal EST hours
I will consider cash and trade for Cars, Boats, Motorcycles, Property or etc.
