The bed"s performance is also in commendable condition. The PTO (with Neutral Interlock) engages properly, the compactor extends and retracts smoothly, and the hopper rises and descends nicely. The dumpster tipper, the cart tipper, and the synchronized packing cycle are all working fine. Further, there are NO EVIDENT LEAKS on any of the hydraulic cylinders!
The powertrain on this truck consists of the proven Caterpillar C7 and an Allison 3500RDS Transmission combo. The engine cranks right up, it sounds very smooth, and there are no abnormal noises, smoke, or vibrations on it. All the transmission gears are engaging promptly, pulling strong, and shifting smoothly. The truck rides straight, the suspension feels snug, the braking is even, and the truck rides nicely at highway speeds. Take a look at the video to see this loader in action!
A noteworthy feature is that this truck has NO EMISSION SYSTEMS that later models are equipped with! There are NO regeneration cycles (and the fire hazards they create!), NO particulate filters, and NO diesel exhaust fluid to deal with!
