According to the Grumman Cubvan website only 533 Cubvans were produced, but when I bought this one and 5 others, none of them had vin #s, just brand new bare aluminum bodies. Probably the last ones built. When it was assembled I was told to use the VW vin # from the donor vehicle. It is a long body, high floor version, with the forged suspension pick ups. It has an 1800 cc engine which was rebuilt 3 years ago and the automatic transmission was serviced at the time. It is right hand drive and was used as a rural route postal vehicle since assembled, it had a new steering rack installed 2 years ago. It has 4 wheel disc brakes. It handles and drives fine, it is just as it was my last day of work before I retired, I just don"t need it any more. It has a full complement of gauges, but only the speedo and the oil gauge are hooked up. I had always planned on updating the dash with a later model VW dash (which is included in the auction) but because I am lazy it never happened. The rear wiper does not work, there is damage on the left rear (as you can see in the pictures) and the seat needs replaced. The gray post office trays in the pictures are not included. Included in the auction is a spare used engine and transaxle from a running VW. A set of good used snow tires mounted on steel wheels. It also comes with a lot of new parts; brake rotors, wheel bearings, grease seals, brake pads, 15 oil filters, motor and transmission mounts, tie rod ends, a new rear caliper, thermostats, radiator caps, spark plugs, plug wires, gaskets, water pump, fuel pumps, water hoses, bumper, quarter panel, grill, dash parts, shifter, shifter cable, axles, cv joint boots, head light rims and many more. Used parts included are; axles, starters, alternators, distributors, spindles, misc engine parts, extra hood, door, bumpers and many many more parts.
