1988 E-1 DETROIT DIESEL IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.
I purchased this unit from Finley Fire in Ohio. Vehicle came out of service from Aurora, Illinois. Pump test had been passed. I had a plan to use this as a business adjunct. Plan changed.
I had a fire mechanic drive this unit to Augusta, GA. I then took it to a diesel injector shop for general inspection/service. They repaired the shut off, removed the boost pipe and re-brazed the collar, replaced both fuel filters, cleaned air filter, repaired JAKE brake connection, overall inspection, lube all chassis, brakes good, etc.
Then I had new front tires installed, wheel liners, and under-body work lights and warning lights.
Air drivers seat.
6V92. .2 cycle Detroit Diesel. Look at the picture of the 200,000 warranty from Detroit Diesel ! (Only good for the first 2 years of service. .but think: 200,000 of heavy duty service under warranty ! ).
I replaced both HUGE batteries.
Unit starts immediately. ALLISON transmission. Automatic. Air brakes. All aluminum. No rust. Paint in good condition...some bubbling at the edges.
UNIT RUNS WELL.
I simply want to sell it. I start it every 2 or 3 weeks and let it pump up air pressure...maybe drive it a couple of miles...then park it.
The small wire you see in the crew photo is for an ADD ON solar charger...to trickle charge one of the huge batteries. I remove the charger prior to driving.
It does have a battery cut-off.
NO WARRANTY. AS IS - WHERE IS.
Clean title.
