Hello. First, our business is in California, which sucks. (Just want to make that public!) Therefore, when a sensor goes out, or the computer can"t talk to something (which has NO effect on smog, or how it runs, etc.), we get shafted and we can"t get it certified for the smog certificate. So please note that while the van runs great, has very little mileage, is an EXCELLENT work van... it cannot be used in California. (Note that the last time I said this was when we sold our Sprinter, which the buyer turned around and had someone program the computer and it passed smog - we simply do not have that time.)
Next, it runs fine, you can take it for a spin, it"s not a salvage, it has some small dents and scratches - nothing a wrap won"t fix.. :) We just replaced the transmission because one of my employees decided to load something heavy in it and go up a hill. (Don"t get me started on employees. .) :) So the van operates, functions, drives just fine. It"s now with a non-operating license, so it"s legal, insured, etc. Until we sell it, we will do everything right.
We have maintenance records from when we bought it several years ago, been serviced here at Fiesta Ford in Indio, and again, since we can"t get it smogged, we"re done. We just bought a new van, so this one is done. But, for those of you that reside in smart states (you know, where you don"t have silly laws that hurt people), you are going to do well with this van. We sold a Sprinter to somebody in Arizona with the same issue - they got a deal! So we"re doing it again.
Let me know what questions you have - you are free to come, check it out, drive it.. our deisel mechanic said that most-likely, since it runs and drive and has power, that it"s probably NOT the diesel particulate filter (which the Ford computer is saying that it is), but rather the 3 sensors that are bad and are giving bad signals to the computer. Whatever, don"t have time to deal with it, have a new van, so we"re good.
Thank you - we"re very transparent, we have nothing to hide, it"s a work van, but with 106k on the clock, this van has A LOT of life left... it"s presentable, doesn"t look like a beat-up anything, and works great. Enjoy, and thank you for looking! And if you see our history, it speaks for itself.
Regards,
Pride Piper
