This truck is one of those super clean trucks that has never seen road salt, gravel roads, and has been cleaned every day. This truck was spec"d out from the factory with green metallic paint on the chassis. Every nut and bolt on the chassis is in beautiful shape. Freightliner did a excellent job engineering the entire chassis for an extremely low ride design with only 5 inches of clearance under the front axle. The stance is lowered even more with 19.5 inch wheels and tires giving this truck a very low center of gravity which gives it great cornering abilities at high speeds. It was spec"d out low like this and came this way right from the factory. There were no changes made to this low riding system. This truck spent it"s entire lifetime pulling high cube loads, grossing 80,000 lbs, up and over the California mountains.This truck was maticulously well maintained, with service records and oil samples pulled and analized for any future problems. This truck"s engine has another 500,000 miles left in it.
The engine is a 450 horsepower MBE4000 Mercedes with a high torque low rpm design. It"s maximum torque is at 1,400 rpm and has been designed to run at that low rpm. The truck tops out at 65 mph at 1,400 rpm in 13th gear. It has a speed limiter in the vehicle control unit which could be programed out. When you step on the throttle, the torque from this motor rocks the whole truck and when you"re loaded and accelerating through the gears, you don"t have to wait for the horsepower. It"s instant, even in the lower rpm ranges.
The trubo brake is designed for running at greater rpm than 1,400 which increases the air mass flow into the engine to provide a very high braking horsepower. It can be operated manually or automatically through the cruise control function, which gives you a lot of control confidence when dropping off those steep grades.
This truck is the smoothest riding truck I"ve every driven. It has a triply redunand air ride system. Along with the air ride seats, it has air ride cab and an air ride main suspension. It steers effortlessly and shifts as smooth as glass.
The mirror system allows you to see all around the truck. You have perfect spacial awareness with no blind spots. It"s a real pleasure to drive.
The AC blows cold as well as everything else working in the cab. The seats are good, the dash is good, the floorboards are good. Everything is in very good condition. This truck is ready to work and start making money. It was built to pull a set of double trailers but would make a great racecar hauler, RV puller, horsetrailer truck, or just pulling 80,000 lbs loads around the country.
