FWD Auto Company, 3 door truck that I believe is late forties (trying to get production years for this rare model HRU-COE ). Model # 127003. Serial # 229, Chassis #114991, Speed Limit - M.P.H. - 42Last in service for the Department of Interior, Southwestern Power Administration.
Waukeshaw engine runs and is complete except for generator. I"ve driven it but wheel cylinders are stuck, so no brakes. I was informed by the FWD Auto Co. Museum that they only know of 2 of these models to exist, and this is one of them. I believe the USMC is planning to restore the other.
I"ve owned this truck for many years and don"t see myself doing anything with it (except hoarding it ). Truck has no title, bill of sale only (yes it has serial # & model # plates, pictures upon request ) . Pictures pretty much say it all. It can stay here for up to one year. I have a loading ramp and can assist with loading. We are on I-40, west central New Mexico.
My thoughts for this truck was to put modern engine & trans behind cab so originality was kept in tact, but I could drive it to truck shows. Had great ideas for one of a kind ramp truck restoration, but no time. This is not only super rare but the coolest looking COE I"ve ever found. Any questions please e-mail and I will respond as quick as possible. Thanks
