For sale: 1988 GMC Forestry Grapple Truck, The truck has only 132,000 miles and 1,100 hours. The truck has a turbo Cummins 350 engine, 8LL Transmission with locking diff. The truck has Rockwell axles on the back and straight axle on the front. New front tires and good tire tread on the rear(s). The wheel seals have all been replaced, the brakes have been recently adjusted. The truck has a new clutch, and the engine runs strong. The truck steers nicely down the road and is comfortable to ride in, just as any new truck. The truck has a new heater core, the old one went out. The engine had has fresh oil, fuel, and air filters installed this week. It has a tag axle that works wonderful with the flip of a switch, and adjustable air pressure via a turn dial in the cab for those heavy loads. Everything shifts very smoothly, no grinding or slipping out of gear. It is really quite a joy to drive, even long distances. The turbo Cummins keeps up with traffic while loaded with no problem, lots of power and is a clean, quiet running engine with plenty of power. The PTO engages nicely and never has issues. All of the lights, including running lights are in working order. The truck has all new reflective tape around it, and a fresh paint job on the box and cab. The cab is a GMC cab with an air ride seat that is comfortable. The 8ll Eaton Transmission is fun to use. It has a short type shift set up, that moves through the gears with minimal movement to keep you from slowing down in-between gears. Anyone can drive this truck. The truck has been installed with a heavy duty receiver hitch that can act as a receiver, or a pintle hook connection point. The electrical trailer connection for the lights and electrical brakes works as well. There is also air to the rear of the truck for a trailer connection as well for an air brake trailer. The box on the truck is approximately 30 yards in volume. The entire driver"s side of the box has a door can be lowered vertically via an 20,000k lb. electronic winch with a wired remote control that can be operated outside of inside the truck. (The door is on hinges on the bottom side which allows for the door to be dropped) The knuckle boom crane is very heavy duty. We attached a Farma Grapple which is a 68 bypass grapple. The hoses have been covered using heavy duty radiator hose. This prevents the hoses from being punctured and keeps them high and tight out of the way. The boom is very similar to a prentice. I do not know the make of the boom itself. But I have ran prentice booms, and this one surpasses the prentice by my standards. It is very smooth and reliable. The boom length is 20" long. The cylinders are heavy duty and have both been repacked and re sealed. The crane can lift 12,000 lbs. at 8 degrees is what the diagram shows. I believe it will do so. The boom is operated by two joysticks on either side of the operator and the turn table is operated via feet levers. The outriggers fold upright and come down upon an angle, and have great stability. The cylinders on the outriggers are in great shape and do no leak. The Farma grapple has worked great, it can squeeze and holds pressure onto the limbs, debris, and logs firmly without losing any pressure whatsoever. Simply drive to the site; load the debris; get to the dump location; let down the door, climb up the tower, and grab everything inside the bed with the grapple, and slide it on out. The debris simply slides out together without the hassle of operating a dump bed. Thanks, happy bidding.Check out the youtube Video:
