This is a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD with a BodyFX Fiberglass utility body. It also has a WORKING Onan 7000EFI gas powered generator. It ONLY HAS 399.4 HOURS. The generator is hardwired into the truck battery as well as plumbed into the gas lines. It has remote start at the back and outlets for 110v and 240v.
I bought it at auction intending to pull the utility body off and put a box on it. I didn"t realize the generator was still hooked up, and I think it would sell better on the truck. I have the reserve set VERY low.
I priced the generator, new they sell for $5,058.00 I also priced the body, new these start at $6,000.00 plus options.
First, the good with this truck:
I drove this home from the auction in a combination of interstate and local roads. I averaged 70mph on the interstate and the truck never missed a beat. On the back roads, it up and down shifted perfectly. I couldn"t feel any slipping or hesitation, truck doesn"t ride rough or have any issues that I could notice. The 6.0 ltr engine runs strong. The interior is in very good condition. Only bad thing is the trim piece from the driver side pillar is missing, and it"s a little dirty. The box is in great shape. There is some very minor damage on the passenger side, not worth fixing. All the doors work and the shelving is great. Most of the locks are missing though. The Onan generator works perfect. It powers up and I tested all of the outlets. They are all producing the proper voltage. It does need a rubber fuel line replaced. It"s easy enough to get to, I just didn"t do it. Over time, it has rubbed on a frame bracket and there is a hole worn in it.
Now the bad about the truck:
It will need a battery. This one won"t hold a charge. Also, I was told the front end was removed, and put it on another truck that was being kept. I couldn"t find a GMC grill, headlights, and turn signal set, so I put a Chevrolet set on it. It isn"t pretty, but it"s legal and everything works. I looked in 4 different junkyards, and couldn"t find what I needed. It also has a hole in the driver side floor. It isn"t hateful but it does need fixed. It is located at the edge by the door and measures about 6 inches wide and about 12 inches long. A piece of sheet metal and a welder would make short work of it. There also some small rust holes in the couple places on the hood. Again, a welder and a little time, those would be fixed.
THE TRUCK HAS 217,850 MILES ON IT. It has also been fleet maintained its entire life, and it shows. This truck is really in very good condition for its age and miles.
The truck must be paid for and picked up within 15 days of the end of the auction. The deposit is non-refundable. The final payment is cash only. This truck is posted and for sale in my front yard. The auction may end at time until the reserve is met or buy it now is used.
