So, why are we selling? The short version of the story is that we ended up with two box trucks (this one and a GMC 5500) and simply can’t justify keeping them both. We purchased the FRR in 2013, and have only put about 100 miles on it since it arrived here in Denver. The truck spent the first part of its life in PA, and then relocated to CA at some point along the way. That’s where we acquired it.
The truck’s in very nice condition, but let me say from the start, it’s not perfect. There are the usual paint nicks, scratches, and a few small dents here and there, typical for a truck of this age. It has some light surface rust in places, but no significant corrosion, pitting or body damage.
The speedometer and odometer work as they should and currently show 46,121 miles. You read that right, only 46K!! The low miles and great condition are why we bought this truck in 2013. Most FRR’s you find for sale nowadays have been abused and have upwards of 200K or more.
The truck starts easily and has LOTS of power. Electrical & mechanical systems work like they should. The Maxon lift-gate operates smoothly and locks into place securely. Rear and side entry doors operate as they should. Rear tires are in good shape. Front tires show evidence of age with some sun-checking on the sidewalls. They’re serviceable for driving short distances, but should be replaced before putting the truck into regular service.
Shipping and Transport costs are the responsibility of the Buyer. The truck is roadworthy and could certainly be picked up and driven to your location, but I’d suggest replacing the front tires before attempting a cross-country trek. I"ll be happy to assist the Buyer in arranging transport, and can also help with loading on this end.
