Serious, heavy duty truck with Allison transmission I was going to build this into a DOUBLE car hauler. The steel rails are 24ft feet long. The box we took off was 24 ft. Sadly, My plans have changed. I already have a 1989 crew cab with 21ft Hodges bed. That one can haul dually 4 door trucks no problem. I wanted to build a hauler that could haul two 4 door trucks cross country. By starting the dove tail section at the 24ft point its possible. You could also build it as an extra-long single hauler with room for tools or spare motors, whatever you want it to be. Someone else needs to build this project. This is a non-running project truck. It"s NOT perfect. It"s NOT new. It"s a great project starting point with a CLEAN title.
The previous owners ran the thing low on oil. The Allison transmission was fine when the engine seized up. So yes, needs an engine. Selling CHEAP because I am moving to another state to start another business with my family.
What can you do with this crew cab? Your imagination is the limit. There is so much room in the back cab a VERY nice sleeper bed could be custom built into the rear section if wanted.
Finish this out as you want. Set it up to haul 3 sand rails or 7-8 ATVs, etc etc.
24 foot rails are a lot of planning room.
This is a 6.5L Diesel and Allison transmission. Someone stole the pump off the crew cab lift system, but just about any hydraulic pump will work. The rams are there and the hoses are there. All the pump needs to life is the tilt cab itself. Not a bid deal, but just trying to let everyone know it needs a small hydraulic pump. The odometer is showing 1 mile. I do NOT believe this truck ran 1 million miles because it was a local short haul United Van Lanes truck for corporate office moves, then got sold to a local Charity/Ministry in St Louis. But I cannot explain the odometer at 1 mile. Since I was going to change the engine and custom build it, the odometer was of little concern to me. Just letting everyone know. Project truck. Could be wonderful if finished the right way.
The last photo is a shot of someone else that created a single car hauler from one of these Isuzu crew cab trucks. This one could easily haul two cars if done right. I have seen one of these crew cab Isuzu trucks done for two race cars PLUS a tire rack over the front of the race cars. Was really nicely done. And sold for $48,000 when completed.
Clean title. Needs to leave storage by mid July. Ask questions, but I towed it to storage non-running. The engine and trans were the least of my worries for a project like this. Had big ideas, but changing directions. Lots of possible build options with a truck of this style. Actually hate to see this go. Don"t find a lot of cheap crew cab big haul trucks.
