1988 Ford L7000 Knuckleboom Truck with large powerful lift gate. Bought the truck from the west side of Chicago and drove it back to Cincinnati, OH with no problems whatsoever. Diesel. Manual Trans. Shifts and runs great. Everything runs and operates as it should. Tight truck. Has been well maintained. Steering is very tight. Has turbo. GVW 30,000.
Knuckleboom reaches (I think) 16". I have original manual for the boom. I believe the manual said that it"s rated at 7000 lbs. right up next to the truck. I have no way of testing it, but it easily picks up a 20, 10-12" log without struggling.Controls leak a little bit of hydraulic fluid. I always put a trash can lid under controls and it catches the puddle just fine. Not enough to worry about losing fluid - just enough to leave a stain in concrete. There is one other very small leak from somewhere in the center of the boom. You get a drip every once in awhile, but only just after use. It is not a continual leak while truck is sitting.
Bed has contractor sides (fold down on both sides). Pins that lock them in place are gone. Would be an easy fix for someone to fabricate pins. I had planned on welding the fold-down sides in place, but thought better of it since somebody may want to keep the contractor sides. As it is, I just use a ratchet strap. Bed does not dump. With the contractor sides, it"s easy to off load.
Lift gate has 5" deck. I don"t know what the rating on this is, but I haven"t put anything on it that has made it hesitate. I have a 2000 lb. mini skidsteer and it loads it with no problems.
Truck has been sitting for 2 years. Just did a fluid change, so it should be ready for a road trip. I cannot guarantee anything. The truck is sold as-is, but I would not hesitate to get in it and drive it 500 miles. Tires - 1 brand new front driver side tire. Passenger front is between 70 and 90%. Rear tires are between 60 and 70%. I"ve gone through all the lights, switches and gauges and have found all to be operational. This truck was fleet-maintained before I bought it, so everything has been kept tight. Driver seat is air ride seat - probably the nicest seat I"ve ever ridden in.
Nothing wrong with this truck. I just have too many trucks and need to sell.
Truck is sold as-is. No guarantees or warranties stated or implied. With any vehicle I"d recommend coming and taking a look at it and going over it for yourself. I"d be happy to make an appointment for interested parties.
Truck is also listed locally. Ebay auction may be ended at any time.
