This is a 1977 Mack R685. 6 Cyl turbocharged diesel engine. 5 speed manual transmission. PTO. Air brakes. 44,500 GVRW (10,500 front, 17,000 rears). Camelback suspension. Power unload manure tank, with hydraulically operated tool bar for manure incorporation (not attached in the photos). Transmission oil was just changed, and there was no chunks / metallic mayhem on the plug. Gear lube was just checked as well, and those looked good as well. We installed 2 new brake chambers. We also installed 2 new torque rod bushings/ There is a new alternator installed. The PTO shaft was just resealed. The down pipe / flex tube was replaced also after the turbo.
We just recently serviced the truck, and completely went through it front to back. All filters changed (lube, water, air, fuel). Truck start and runs good. Transmission shifts smoothly. Clutch is good, and adjusted up correctly. Brakes are 75% or better all the way around. Floatation tires are in good condition and hold air well. Truck drives down the road good (surprisingly good for a 77!). Steering doesn"t show alot of play. Power steering works good. Brakes all work good, no pulls during braking. It does have its rattles and what not going down the highway, but nothing that would be surprising. All of the lights, heater, horn, radio, door handles, window cranks, ect. work. All of the glass is intact, no cracks or chips.
Unfortunately, this trusty ol" girl isn"t without her flaws, so I"ll try to be as complete as I can...
Truck will need steer tires, they are getting low on tread depth. The heater works, but the fan is controlled via a toggle switch. The windshield wipers are lazy - sometimes when you pull the air button out, they won"t cycle 100%. Sometimes they will, but again, sometimes they get lazy. The passenger window has started to fog up on the very bottom. The roof air vent is seized closed (we didn"t try to force it open).
The floatation tires (42x25x20 size) are rated to 30MPH only. I have ran this truck down the highway at 60MPH, and I"d say the ride and handling is quite normal - nothing scarey, swaying, or anything crazy, BUT, regaurdless, these tires are rated at 30 MPH so I wouldn"t recommend driving it home.
Any questions, feel free to call (920)464-0841.
Here are a couple videos of the truck, a walk around and a test drive.
This is the part I HATE to include. . but I must. If you don"t have the funds - don"t bid. If you have less that 10 feedback - call me first BEFORE you bid please. There is a $500 deposit due at the end of the auction - this is not refundable, and non-negotiable.
