1995 Mitsubishi FM 557 with a model 6D16, 6 cylinder motor, 6 speed transmission, and 143,000 miles. 220 Wheelbase. Was originally a refrigerated haul truck, going from NJ to Chicago. It slid off-road in a winter storm, and the box took 90% of the hit. Truck was repaired and used by an Ohio business, as-is, to haul a gooseneck trailer (truck has a custom gooseneck hitch installed). I purchased it from them to use the driveline in a project, and those plans have disappeared. The engine redlines at 3100 rpm, so it was perfect for a pulling truck/tractor, or off-road beast/farm hauler. I drove it home, as-is, from Dayton, OH. On the 750+ mile trip to upstate NY, I got 15 mpg with 2700+ pounds loaded on the back. It rode like a car, and tracked straight, but it"s much nicer to drive than to look at. With air-ride seat and fully syncro"d shifting, it"s designed to be comfortable and very easy to drive. It drove so well I decided not to tear it apart, and it"s been an around-the-yard driver for the last few years. My plans have changed, I need some room in the yard, and it"s time for this truck to have a new owner. PLEASE NOTE: It has a Rebuilt/Salvage title from Ohio. The previous owner/business put my name on the back of the Ohio title certificate, which is included as-is in this sale. Since I"d only intended to use just the driveline, I have NOT updated the title, OR registered this truck in my name, in NYS. Because of the title issue, and how hard NYS-DMV title correction would be, this truck is best used for export, or parts. I will include a Bill of Sale with the current Ohio title certificate, if needed, but that is the only assistance I can provide. The ONLY operational issues known are: Actuator valve/diaphragm for turbo needs replacement. Six months ago, as the truck was running, a mechanic spooled-up the turbo manually. The turbo itself was fine. Needs two 12 volt batteries. Needs the automatic fuel shut-off replaced, but it works manually. Cab has dents and dings. The rear cab mount/cradle was slightly twisted in the accident, but because the safety latch still worked, I simply used a strap from cab-to-chassis (shown in the photo) for extra security. The previous owner had the chassis/steering aligned at a Mitsubishi dealership, but the left front frame horn is still tweaked inward (I saw no negative affect to driving/tracking at all). The controls for the refrigerated box were roughly removed from inside the cab, so there"s wires hanging. The tin weather-cover on/over the rear frame and driveline (shown in the photo"s) is not included. To save ANY questions: This is NOT a slap on a license plate and drive it away truck. I have backed-off the brakes so they don"t seize-up while sitting. Because of the turbo issue, I have not tried to move this truck under its own power during the last 14 months. To return it to safe mobility, at minimum, fixing the turbo actuator and brake servicing would be required. It"s a GREAT parts/project truck, but it will need attention before returning to road use. It is being listed and sold As-Is, Where-Is, with no Warrantee"s or Guarantee"s of any kind. You will need to arrange and pay for your own hauling. I do have an articulated tractor capable of moving this truck, but will not want to use it when the temperature is below zero. Your chosen hauler should have a winch available for loading, and must contact me at least 48 hours before arrival. I will assist with loading, if possible, but access time is limited. It is located 20 miles off NYS I-87"s Exit 20, and easy (flat) roadside access where it"s parked. It"s priced well below parts value, and needs a new home. I run a business, and have very limited time, so I"ve tried my best to list everything I know about this truck. I"ve listed the VIN, so further details can be researched before you bid. If you have questions not addressed in this listing, I will do my best to answer them as time allows. Thank You for your interest!
