This 2000 International 4700 DT466e is for the person that wants the baddest toy around. If I had the property space, I wouldn"t be selling, but the wife wants this out of the driveway (I had my way for a few years). I had a vision to make this back in 2012. It took me nearly a year to complete. This truck started as a six-wheeled bucket truck in Texas. I purchased it in Kentucky, and had it shipped to Tuscon, AZ, where a very meticulous builder followed my wishes to put this together (I"m in NJ). Most of the work went into the suspension/steering. You cannot just put big wheels on this truck and call it a day. Custom parts were fabricated, and this fabricator took pains with things like bump steer, drive shaft angle, and run out (wheels are custom made and took a long time for delivery--I think they came from Milwaukee). He even had to make a custom wheel balancer from a Ford axle. Each wheel/tire combo is ~475 lbs. When I finally got it shipped from AZ to NJ (total shipping now in the $6-$7K range, ugh), I had an installer swap out the stock interior with a Cadillac Escalade leather interior/power seat. He also put in ~1000 watts of stereo equipment and speakers. It is loud in there if you want. We never got to putting an antenna on for the radio as I just connect a flash drive for MP3s. Oh, it has a Grover Stuttertone air horn and Viair compressor (same horn as a red fire truck), it sounds good and it"s darn loud. Also, in the interim, I had everything fixed that was wrong with it (new AC compressor, any bad injectors, all oil leaks, electrical wiring--> all addressed and all receipts are available. Some were done at an International dealer in AZ, and some were at a truck shop here in NJ). All fluids have been changed. I added a block heater, which I found I don"t need, since I keep the new batteries running strong by trickle charging when not in use. There is also an alarm system, Viper I believe.
Note : No CDL required. I specifically wanted hydraulic (not air) brakes. I have this registered as a passenger vehicle (meaning not commercial). It is the maximum legal highway width (120)
So if you want a unique toy, this could be it. It is not a show truck. The headliner could use professional attachment. There is some peeling of the paint. The interior is not show quality. It has some problems that Internationals are known for: dash electronics not working 100% of the time depending on the outddoor temp (sometimes they don"t kick on until you"ve driven for a few mintues). Some leaking from the windshield in very heavy rain. Not all four doors are keyed the same (there is a different key for the back doors but this is easy to change if desired). I don"t use this for work and it hasn"t been offroad. It is just used for fun/cruising around town (don"t go to Home Depot/Lowes unless you want a crowd around your vehicle when you come out). AC may or may not need a recharge, I haven"t used it in a while (but AC/compressor was rebuilt when I bought the truck)
I"ll end the auction early if it sells locally first. I can help arrange shipping the truck to your location. Sold as-is
