Super rare 1965 Chevrolet step van delivery vehicle. Manufactured in Vancouver, B.C., Canada by Commercial Body Builders Ltd. Very limited production. Total production for 1965 is unknown but estimated to be about half a dozen. Some have thought that this is a Divco Dividend model, but it is not. I know of only one other 1965 model, and it is a wrecked.
This vehicle is unique in that the entire roof and front body is one piece of fiberglas. It has curved plexiglas corner windows to remove blind spots. The ceiling in the van has a translucent skylight lengthwise made by not painting the fiberglas down the center of the roof. It is built on a 1965 Chevy forward control chassis. Independant front suspension and trailing arm rear suspension. The 12 bolt rear axle has a positraction gearset. Drum brakes all around with a 6 bolt wheel pattern. Corvair style dashboard. Shows mileage of 50,381.5 on odometer. The floor around the drivers compartment is checkerplate, with the rear parcel area having a hardwood floor that is in excellent condition. Side entrance doors are sliders, with rear doors being barn style. The front end has interesting tri-bar signal lights.
The front bumper is missing. It uses a stock 60-66 chevy truck bumper. The grille has a small tweak that is easily repairable. Front curved plexiglas is hazed badly. There is need for some minor bodywork to the fiberglas around the front right wheel well. Glass is in need of replacement, but it is all flat glass. There was a hole cut in the ceiling directly above the driver"s seat. Perhaps it was for a vent. The passenger side outdide door handle is missing. Both sliding doors are moveable, but will need some lubrication. Inside step wells both have rust issues but should be a failrly straightforward fix. Quarter panels on both sides have been replaced at some point. Galvanized metal was used and the paint is peeling and coming off. The rub rails on both sides have small areas of rest perforation. Rear doors open and close OK, but will need some work. No glass and no handles or locks in rear doors. Rear tail lights are missing, but are standard 4 round lights. Rear bumper is tweaked and should probably be removed. Both rear lower corners are rusty and need repair. The tires on it are totally garbage.
Included in this auction are the following parts to get you started. A complete swap in front suspension from a chevy truck. This front end has lowered springs and drop spindles for a total of about 3 1/2 drop. This will update the van to better springs and disc brakes. Heavy duty brakes with new calipers and brake hoses. Chevy truck power steering box and NEW Power steering box adapter plates for the frame. Included are NEW rear Axle shafts for the 12 bolt rear axle to convert it to the matching 5 bolt pattern as the front. Included is a used Power Master Brake Cylinder and 90 degree mount from a 1990"s full size Dodge van. NOTE: The tires on the van are garbage, but included are 4 tires mounted on chevy 5 bolt ralley rims for use after the conversion.
The stock engine and transmission have already been removed. The replacement crossmember includes mounts for a small block. I should be able to dig up a transmission mount too. Also included, but NOT INSTALLED is a chevy 350/350 engine and transmission
This vehicle is being sold as is, where is. This vehicle is NOT driveable and will need to be towed or trailered. Flat towing also not advised. I will help with loading pending arrangement of same. (if I am at work, I can"t be there)
This vehicle has a clear Title registered in the Province of British Columbia in CANADA. The vehicle is located in Vernon, BC. The seller will provide a transfer of title as well as a bill of sale with the vehicle.
