Hello other business owners in need of a nice reliable truck!
We no longer have use for our 2010 Freightliner M2 106 20ft.
This was purchased at the end of 2019 for our use as a climate controlled mobile inventory storage solution. During our tenure we had a dozen vidmar cabinets inside (it will fit 14 vidmars total). Due to C19 and limited parking at our business we have decided to downsize this spare vehicle.
This is a very special and rare model Freightliner, only produced for 1-2 years AFAIK. It has modern common rail injection and for emissions a Diesel Particulate Filter, but DOES NOT require or take DEF fluid /Urea injection.
DEF / Urea injection is very often the most expensive (given recurring bills) and problematic system on modern commercial diesel trucks (and also passenger cars). I sought out this specific combination (no DEF Cummins8.3L / Allison 4000) to be the more robust, and reliable of the Freightliners (I"ve worked in automotive for 15 years, exotic italian / german, diesel, etc).
This was an original California vehicle (still has clean idle equipped) owned by Berkeley Farms in Hayward and used as a milk truck. It was subsequently purchased by a Hayward based pizza ingredient distributor around 2015, and then by us at the end of 2019.
This Freightliner has an Aluminum lift gate and features the best insulated box on the market (Johnson Truck Bodies / Great Dane) 5 thick insulation, fiberglass / waterproof interior with drains (very clean condition no food products, odors etc).
All tires have great matched tread and the truck drives straight, never leaks any fluids on the ground, the shop said that one coolant hose coupler is seeping / wet, but we have never had to add coolant in the year we owned it.
It has service records from the previous owner and myself, and requires no maintenance or repairs aside from a rear door gasket (purchased but never installed, included with sale). No roof or box damage or prior repairs.
We had this truck luxuriously appointed with heated Range Rover seats and a new leather Cascadia steering wheel from Freightliner. Under our ownership this vehicle was driven by an owner operator and business partners, not employees. As such, it received the highest level of care in the course of its use.
Getting broken down is expensive, we took care of anything we could foresee that would get us stuck with an issue away from our shop.
This is a great mobile office or climate controlled transportation truck. It no longer has the original problematic ($25k+) below 0degree 3 ton AC unit that runs off of the truck engine PTO.
It currently has a complete new refer / heat system with 110v 1.8 ton combined A/C Heat pump unit that will easily maintain cool and or heat the box running off of a jockey box mounted Honda gas generator (11hrs off 2 gallons of fuel).
You will for sure not be able to get the 20 foot box cold enough to keep 10k lbs of raw meat or ice cream / dairy frozen or near freezing, but the way the box is insulated, 1.5 tons is enough to keep it cold all day or warm all night in any condition (we have used it in temperatures exceeding 100degrees down to 0 degrees with impressive comfort.
Vidmars shown are not included, I will update this listing with box interior, rear exterior, and cab photos in the next week.
