As I mentioned above, my wife and I purchased and remodeled a 2007 Ford Econoline box truck last year. The vehicle was purchased from Ryder Truck Rentals and was used lightly as a flower service delivery truck in Seattle prior. The entire truck was customized from the interior to the exterior paint job / logo. We initially purchased the truck for $14K and put another $15K into the customization. During customization we added hardwood floors, a changing room, a checkout counter, corrugated steel ceiling, firefly ceiling lighting, 3 face-out wall mounts for clothing, 2 wall hanging racks, 6 shelves, a manual pop-out window (really an amazing feature for a nice breeze/natural lighting at events), fitted staircase made from solid cedar which can support up to 1500 lbs, vintage stikwood walls, copper piping for all fixtures and linen sheets for both the changing room and the checkout counter. The checkout counter can be removed with ease during vehicle operation - and the passenger seat slides nicely into position in the same place.
We"ve had the truck serviced once and replaced the Mass Air Flow Filter in the process. Runs incredibly well and can operate at 70 mph easily. We"ve only personally added roughly 500-600 miles on it over the year we"ve had it, no issues at all. Currently the odometer is around 150,000 miles and we"ve been told by Ryder that these trucks usually last into the 300K range - so lots of life left. Tires are in good condition, no oil change needed for another few thousand miles. Really impressed with the performance overall and we are proud of our customization"s as we are the only truck we"ve come across with this quality of an interior (and we"ve used it at over 100 events this past summer). Another nice aspect of the truck is it takes gas!! Most of our competitors had diesel trucks and we found that we not only saved in gas mileage but also overall fuel expenses.
