Up for auction is our 1999 Sterling boom truck. Reason for sale is we purchased a newer, bigger truck at the end of last year and we anticipate receiving it shortly. In the mean-time, this truck continues to be used daily so mileage will be higher! We are the original owners of this truck, we purchased it in 1999, custom assembled with the crane mounted. An equivalent truck would cost well over $200,000.00 to build currently. The crane that is mounted is the superior Palfinger PK24001-E with Hectronic remote system. Currently, the remote system is not working. We do not know why, because the manual controls are fine for us anyways. The crane, when hot, also leaks down the boom. These are the only known crane faults. The crane (and truck) have always been regularly maintained as part of our fleet. The truck itself is in strong mechanical condition, the engine is the bulletproof Cat C12 long block coupled with the Eaton RTO16908LL trans, neither of which have ever given us any issues at all. I believe one tool box has a faulty latching mechanism which is why you can see the bungee cord on it. The bed is 24.5" long. Tires are good/very good mostly (see photos). No major cosmetic damage, the usual dings and scrapes for a 17 year old work truck. The dashboard is a bit cracked up as you can see, the maxibrake valves are loose in the dash although the valves themselves function fine of course. The truck passed federal emissions last month, and also was in the shop. On 12/28/15 it received a full PM service, plus fuel filter, rear brake adjustment, clutch adjustment, both front wheel bearings, 4 new slack adjusters, and a new brake chamber to replace a leaking one. It invoiced out to $2,808.14. As stated before, the truck and crane are in service currently, and it is ready to keep on going thanks to our meticulous maintenance. The truck is sold AS-IS. The truck is available for inspection during the week, please do not hesitate to send me a message with any questions you may have or to schedule an inspection. We have a yard where you can operate the boom as well.
