I appreciate you stopping by and taking a look at this very nice Sterling (2003) Acterra Rollback Wrecker. I really don"t know much about Tow Trucks but I have gotten to know what I know from the fact I to fix what I purchased for my Son.
As a Dad my son decided that he wanted to Start a Towing Service for himself after working for a Tow Service in Indianapolis, IN so Dad decided to go out with him and purchase this very nice looking 2003 Sterling Acterra 5 Speed Automatic Transmission Rollback, 26,500 Gross Weight.
Well after getting home we I noticed that the air brakes was not holding so I noticed the lights wasn"t all working, so in all my vehicles I own everything must work perfect or I don"t own it. So I didn"t know much but I told my son it is going to get looked at and fixed so I got advice to take it to Clarke Truck Power Service on Thompson Road just off of Harding in Indianapolis, IN with its Corporate office is in Cincinnati, OH if you are not familiar.
So the truck was taken too Clarke"s and after 8 weeks I had $10,700.00 worth of work done because my son really did not know what he was looking at and Frankly I did not either, so if you want proof of what was done I have the services that was performed.
New Radiator
New Wheel Hub"s on all 6 Wheels
Because I wanted - New Air Line Hoses
New Brakes
New Hydraulic Hoses, Fittings
New Steering Gear Box
New Air Compressor
Sent out to Freightliner - Brand New Wiper Assembly Module all the way to the Lever.
6 Brand New Tires as you can see in the Pictures I haven"t drove it further then from the Shop to my house stickers still on tread. - Now That was done at Goodyear.
There was other things done but that I am shooting from the hip I cannot locate the service record but I will go get it I only live 4 Miles from Clarkes.
I had all 6 Wheels Powder Coated Black
Front End and all Wheel Alignment
All Electrical wiring brought up to DOT standards and everything works in the electrical lighting, Brakes, Turns, Flashers etc...
Rollback works perfect -
Wheel Lift Works Perfect.

The Interior Dash in places has Cracks I was going to order a $800.00 new dash but I will let the new owner do this because you can chose different colors. I guess that was a flaw in the Sterlings as the was easily cracked by the Sun.
This is a 260 Horsepower Turbo Diesel with massive power.
So the story is it is for sale because my son decided hey Dad I don"t want to have my own business I want to go chase girls etc... So guess what I live in a Subdivision and it"s parked next to my house and it is getting sold. I am not going to take a big loss but I might take a little loss if I have to I will contract it out or trade it for something else.
So with this now being a NEW truck it does have blemishes and some minor scratches, I know the front bumper has a dent. So it does have some imperfections but it"s a 2003 not a 2017. But this truck is a horse and I have over $10,700 in Mechanical work and over $2700.00 in tires and hub powder coating.
Buyer is buying this As is Where is so please bid with this understanding if you need to have someone come take a look I welcome this but if you need to call Clarke and ask them if they worked on a 2003 Sterling Acterra in the last 30 days I can promise you they will know this for a fact because I did not let them stop until everything was perfect.
