2001 Sterling Rail Truck. Previously owned and maintained by Sperry Rail Service
Allison 6-speed automatic with a 2-speed rear end
Air ride seats, heated mirrors, power steering and a standard radio.
Two roof mounted heater-A/C units
Rail wheel hydraulics function front and rear. The rear rail wheels are present but the fronts were removed during the decommissioning. These can be used to raise the truck off the ground for tire changes etc.
On board air supply and tank with standard air hose and couplings will run power tools and other compressed air accessories.
Class 4 hitch with new 3” drop receiver and ball. Standard trailer wiring but no brake control is installed.
On board water tank with shut off valve and outside spigots. The water tank is translucent and measures 20”x24”x72”.
2 large diesel generators. Both are Kubota powered and combined they are probably worth the starting price! The generators are mounted on each side and can slide out for maintenance. The four cylinder generator is a 20,000 kilowatt unit and the three cylinder generator is a 15,000 kilowatt unit.
Dual fuel tanks are 45 gallons each and they feed the generators too.
Total mileage is 256,911 and documented by the state of Massachusetts but the state of Ohio has a zero tolerance policy for speedometer changes. Documentation will be provided that shows the speedometer was replaced at 194, 910 and the new unit currently reads 62,001.
This truck currently requires a CDL to drive but only 4 things need to be added to convert to a RV allowing anyone to drive it. The state of Ohio requires cold food storage, a stove, a table with seating, and a bed. I have included a new propane oven so you have a start.
Corner boxes have a sliding drawer and wired for power. Room in either one for a welder or similar item.
Center rear tool box above the trailer hitch will hold a lot of trailer straps and trailer accessories.
Power distribution switches and breaker boxes are pictured. Many of the options and componets were removed at decommission but much of the wiring remains. Plenty of options for you to add components.
There is a random hydraulic pump mounted to the floor in the back. I don’t know what it is for,
Included is a nice assortment of office cabinets and table tops and a sink that can be used to finish the rear area of the truck. My intention was to convert this to an RV and use it to pull a race car trailer but it just isn’t going to fit into my schedule.
Excellent driving, starting, and shifting truck that has been fleet maintained. Let me know if you have any questions.
