1964 Studebaker USPS Zip van. Parlay this unique piece of U.S. automotive/postal history into a money making machine! You are only limited by your imagination. What could YOU use it for? It has a 170c.i. (2.8L), 6 cylinder rated at about 100 hp. There is an opening for a service window on the side opposite the driver (driver is on the RIGHT side) and next to a slot for a menu board or whatever. The sliding pocket door on the driver"s side was removed as it had deteriorated. If using this commercially (or otherwise) you might want something lockable and more secure anyway. It is a project that is nearly done. It starts, runs and drives. Recently replaced the brake pads and rebuilt the alternator. Parts have been relatively easy to find for it (considering it is a 52 year old Studebaker). Included, but not installed are: Side mirror, wipers and assembly (easy external bolt-on motor), original stock rims with some misc tires on them and an airvent for the front. It is essentially a blank canvas for your masterpiece. All sorts of possibilities: Food Cart, Farmer"s Market, Vendor Mobile, Hemp Wagon, Tamale Cart, Parts Deliver Wagon...whatever. Bring questions. I will answer what I can.

“This is an "as is" PROJECT. A "Work-in-progress". It is NOT being restored, nor is it being remodelled or rehabbed. It was in the process of being RE-PURPOSED into something that one may see at the Farmer's Market or Food Cart district. It DOES run, but it is 52 years old and has not been stored or babied. That being said, it is pretty solid. Original rims included but not installed. Needs a door, as the original had given in to 50+ years of wear and tear. This is probably a good thing, as the originals weren't that secure anyway. Put in something better. The side widow opposite the driver door is not there as there was to be a service window installed for vending purposes.Small fold in outer panel at rear wheel well from a flat bed haul. Some surface rust and all that goes along with a 52 year old former postal van. Original engine, rebuilt alternator, and any miscelaneous pieces that came with iit when we got it. We have only done the brake pads, alternator and tune up. It starts/runs” |
