The Mack B series was a line of heavy trucks produced by Mack Trucks between 1953 and 1966. It is regarded as the best known Mack model and were available in a variety of configurations.
This running 1958 Mack B-73 tow truck has a 750 Holmes wrecker boom and had been used by Big Johns Towing in Boulder City, Nevada since the early 1970"s (see photos). It has only been out of towing service for a few years. It has a naturally aspirated Mack 6 cylinder 175 HP engine with 15 speed Mack TriPlex transmission and double-under Brownie. Frame has been extended and it has a walking-beam type rear suspension. Overall length is 28" 8, Height 8", Width 8" and Wheelbase of 22". Truck is in very good overall original condition for it"s age. Being a Nevada truck, the body and frame are rust free. This truck would be an easy restoration for someone to bring it back to it"s former glory or just put it back to work as-is.
Tires are older but still hold air. Truck has two new batteries and was last run on 7/19/19. It starts easily and sounds great.
