This satellite truck was the flagship satellite and news production truck for a national broadcaster. It has very low mileage on this 2002 chassis. Only 91,271 miles on the Caterpillar diesel engine and the 6 speed automatic Alison transmission. This T8500 is equipped with air brakes providing plenty of stopping power. Rear Air suspension gives this truck a nice soft ride for those long trips. System power is provided by a very low, 2290 Hrs, Power Tech 25 Kw diesel generator. Shore power and generator power is controlled by a robust high power distribution and switching panel in the right side belly bay. Satellite capability is provided by two 350 watt, MCL 1999 high power RF amplifiers. Dual path system with Tandberg E5500 SDI modulators and Advent 1324 Up converters. Control is provided by Carolina Microwave 18941A controller which is capable to transmit dual path or combined mode. Stabilization is done by 4 heavy duty Big foot hydraulic Levelers. The control is in the right belly bay. This truck is also equipped with a 48 foot telescopic pneumatic mast with 2 nycoils for mounting a microwave transmitter and/or high level camera.
