YOU WILL BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND ANOTHER LATE MODEL (2002) 7.3 DIESEL WITH THESE EXCEPTIONALLY LOW MILES LET ALONE A CREWCAB THAT WILL HOLD YOU AND YOUR CUSTOMERS AND THEIR FAMILY COMFORTABLY. EVEN MORE RARE IS A CREWCAB 4X4 THAT WILL DEFINATELY COME IN HANDY FOR WORKING WRECKS OR GETTING PEOPLE UNSTUCK IN MUD,SAND,ICE OR SNOW. It is embarrassing getting the tow truck stuck on the way to a recovery or to help someone in need ! THIS TWIN LINE VULCAN BED HAS BEEN THE BEST. I would not ever own a single line wrecker again ! IT IS STRONG WITH 5,000 -20,000 LIFT AND TOWING CAPACITY. HISTORY : I purchased this truck in early 2008 with around 110,000 miles on it.I do not remember the exact amount.Since it was over 100,000 miles Texas title shows exempt ! IN 7 YEARS I PUT 18,000 MILES ON THIS TRUCK ! PROS: NEVER WRECKED OR HAD ANY WATER DAMAGE ! This truck and wrecker bed are RUST FREE ! Truck and wrecker bed are still original with original paint ! The truck has worked great for 7 years,used only around my shop or ranch or occasionally to haul customers to my shop. The only problem I had was recently after letting the truck sit since 2013. One of the injectors would stick while the oil was cold. SO,I REPLACED ALL 8 INJECTORS WITH BRAND NEW (not rebuilt)(not remanufactured) NEW INJECTORS AND THE VALVE COVER GASKETS ! THIS TRUCK IS THE SMOOTHEST IDLING FORD DIESEL I HAVE EVER SEEN ! The wrecker bed cylinders were overhauled when the bed was installed about 4 years ago. They show no signs of weakness or leaks ! The wrecker cables were getting rusted and brittle from lack of use,so I just put TWO (2) NEW 7/16 CABLES WITH SWIVEL HOOKS AND STEEL CORES 50FT EACH IN LENGTH.This VULCAN BED has swing away wheel lift arms that make loading up a vehicle much EASIER and is a back saver ! I put a BRAND NEW MUNCIE PTO PUMP on when the bed was installed. It has VERY VERY LITTLE USE and it is manual control so you will always be able to engage and disengage it, UNLIKE THE NEWER ELECTRIC OPERATED PTO"S. I know numerous wreckers that cannot get their electric PTO"S to engage or disengage when needed the most. LIGHTBAR was completely rebuilt at time of bed installation with new lenses,new rotators and new control box.Everything works as it should ! FORD RPM NOS CONTROL BOX was installed at time of bed installation and it works as it should ! The truck has almost new tires and it is a good clean truck inside that shows no signs of abuse ! INTERIOR IS IN GREAT SHAPE ! HEAVY GAUGE FRONT BUMPER WITH GRILLGUARD INSTALLED.(Not light duty tubing or muffler pipe like commercial bumpers/grillguards) CONS :The driver seat has a small hole/tear in original seat cover.The truck has had a couple of blown out tires when being driven and the driver front fender is dented at the bottom. The exhaust pipe and rear mud flap are dented and torn on the rear passenger side from a blown out tire.The driver original windshield has a crack about mid ways from a rock chip hitting it but it does not affect the driver or passenger view. THE TRUCK WAS FOR SHORT RANGE USE SO I ONLY HAVE ONE SMALL FUEL TANK THAT HOLDS AROUND 18 GALLONS INSTALLED UNDER PASSENGER SIDE OF WRECKER BED. There is room to install a second tank underneath driver side of wrecker bed. SUMMARY : GREAT TRUCK,READY TO WORK AND MAKE MONEY ! THE LAST OF THE GREAT FORD DIESEL LINE ! VERY VERY LOW ORIGINAL MILES AND BRAND NEW INJECTORS ! YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER F550 4X4 CREWCAB WRECKER IN MY OPINION BUT IF YOU DO IT WILL NOT BE LOW MILEAGE OR BE DEPENDABLE LIKE THIS ONE !
