This is a 1997 MedTec ambulance on a Ford E450 chassis with a good starting and running 7.3L Powerstroke diesel engine. I sell ambulances for a living and have taken this unit in on trade recently from a county ambulance service in Michigan. It has been maintained very well since new and is a one-owner unit. This unit had just come out of service prior to trading in, so it is in excellent mechanical condition. It does have some rust on the chassis and some paint peeling and corrosion on the body, but the body has no holes and is very solid. The body is all-aluminum with exterior compartment and interior cabinets as shown. This would make an excellent tool truck, service truck, plumbers or electricians truck, mobile dog grooming, motorhome, toter home, car hauler, motocross, bmx hauler, etc. Or, put it back into service as an ambulance, it has plenty of life left in it. You could buy it for donor parts for a project and scrap the rest, it has ALOT or copper and aluminum. It starts right up, runs and shifts very well. It has a GVWR of 14,050#, hydraulic brakes and you do not need a CDL to drive it. All of the electrical circuits work, including the exterior scene lights, warning lights, siren as well as the interior lights, heat and AC in the cab and in the rear. It has a shoreline that will power up 115V AC outlets inside the unit and also keep the batteries charged. Tires are good.
This is also a great remount candidate, allowing the use of a cab extension on an E450 or G4500 for excellent seat travel and cab storage.
