I have for sale a 2007 Freightliner M2 106 with a 12 foot Morgan Box. The engine is a Cat C7 rated at 190 horsepower. The transmission is a 1000 series Allison Automatic. The engine runs good and uses no oil between changes and does not smoke or make unhealthy noises. I changed the oil regularly every 5,000 miles while I owned it. The transmission has 5 speeds and has given me no problems. I was normally loaded around 14-15,000 GVW and the power is more than adequate. There is a 2 receiver hitch with 7 blade RV plug but has no trailer brake controller. No CDL required as it is only 17,940 GVW and has hydraulic brakes. The heater and A/C work great. There is an onboard trip computer which seems to work but I have no manual for it and have never used it. I have put around 20,000 miles on the truck. I understand it was previously a Penske owned truck so it was likely maintained very well. I would not be afraid to drive this truck anywhere. I installed a Chevy pickup center console for more cab storage. The reason I am selling is that it is more truck than I need and I put a lot of miles on so I have moved to a vehicle with more cab space and less operating cost. It has some wooden shelving in the back. I used it as a service truck and hauled tools and parts with it. This has been a work vehicle so be realistic with your expectations, though I would call it pretty good condition. The hood and cab have no rust. The roll up door on the bed has some rust on the inside but I haven"t noticed any water leaks. Here is a list of all the problems I know of; nothing major just for your information. The truck does have a current DOT inspection.
1-the plastic engine coolant reservoir has a small crack and leaks a bit. I put in about a gallon a month to keep it full. As far as I know it has no other coolant leaks.
2-the windshield wipers sometimes go intermittently with the switch off. It likely needs a new switch.
3-The ABS light on the dash stays on. I expect the problem is a dangling sensor at the back left wheel.
4-the fuel gauge shows empty when it is still about a quarter tank or so.
5-the dash has some cracks which is very common for these trucks.
As you can see these are rather small items which will not cause immediate problems just something for your rainy day list! Feel free to ask questions or call or text me at (765)480-1133. I am willing to pick up the buyer at the Indianapolis airport or discuss other options. The truck is for sale locally so the listing will get cancelled if it goes. I have set a reasonable reserve as I do need to cover my bases! No Sunday calls please...I"ll see you in church!
