Hi,
Today I have this vintage 1956 FIRE TRUCK for sale. It was produced by the International truck company. This Fire Truck was originally used in the small coastal town of Avila Beach in California. In 1993 the town bought a new Fire Truck and this was sold to the community of Lopez Canyon. As you can see it is nice overall condition. I am in no way a FIre Truck specialist so please ask any questions you may have. The truck runs and drives, my son and I took it out for a spin around the neighborhood. It has a strong running straight six gas engine. We got a lot of looks and smiles as we roared down the road. The truck seems to be very original and complete. It shows 21,250 miles which I believe is correct and accurate . There are many utility boxes some of which are stiff to open some have the original shovels etc in them. There are 3 boxes that are stuck shut who knows what may be in them? The truck also includes misc hoses, brass fittings and rescue basket. I noticed a small leak in the left gas tank which will need to be repaired. The right gas tank is solid, but does need to be cleaned. I believe the electrical is original and may have a bad ground as I could not get the lights etc to turn on. Due to my lack of fire truck knowledge, none of the plumbing has been tested. Overall I would rate truck a 9 on cool factor and a 6 overall based on the need for some TLC to be 100% again. Please contact me with any questions you may have.
